Award-Winning Black Bear Burger Launches its Largest Restaurant at Westfield London
April 23, 2025

Black Bear Burger has launched a flagship restaurant at Westfield London. It is the third full-service restaurant and the eighth opening overall for the award-winning independent, which has grown from a single street food stall launched by husband-and-wife team Liz and Stew Down in 2016. Known for its focus on grass-fed, dry-aged British beef, its ethos is “simple, done well”.
The 100-cover site on Southern Terrace is Black Bear Burger’s largest restaurant yet, and features an expanded drinks menu together with signature dishes – including the Double Miso Bacon Burger, which scooped the highly coveted title of National Burger of the Year at the 2025 National Burger Awards – alongside new additions such as the off-menu stuffed chicken wings with blue cheese and fermented hot chilli sauce. Diners can also enjoy Guinness on draught, barrel-aged Negronis and the Godfather Sour on the cocktail list.
“Opening at Westfield is a real pinch yourself moment,” said co-founder Stew Down. “We have spent the last eight years building this brand from the ground up and we are still fully independent. This new restaurant is a huge step forward and we cannot wait to extend our offering to people in the White City area.”
Alongside its full-service restaurants in Exmouth Market and Brixton Village, Black Bear also operates in Market Halls and Boxpark.
