Helping the Hospitality Sector Part 2 Following
our first special edition last week there have been hundreds
of new initiatives from the hospitality sector helping you
to eat well at home during the lockdown period and support
restaurateurs, as well as independent food sellers and suppliers. So
much has happened in the course of the last week, and the situation is
still evolving. There are countless sources to keep up with who's
doing what delivery-wise, including this wonderful
spreadsheet by @ClerkenwellBoyEC1. With
the insurmountable pressure on supermarkets and existing grocery
providers at the moment, we have kept our focus this week on some
great grocery initiatives you might not have come across, and a
round up of the amazing charitable endeavours going on in our
sector. And if you're stockpiling booze to see you through this period
or fancy a trip to the virtual pub to keep your spirits up, have a look
at what's on offer below. In
these unprecedented times and with the landscape changing rapidly and
radically we believe it’s important
to keep talking. We are in constant contact with our landlord
clients and with operators too, discussing how challenges can be
faced. The F&B industry has proved itself to be more
innovative than ever, and we are committed to supporting our wonderful
sector in any we can. Please don’t hesitate to contact us to
discuss any aspect of the current situation or to let us know what
you’re doing.

Leon Serves Essential Workers Leon
is continuing to keep its sites open to customers where NHS teams
and other essential workers still rely on its
services. Leon has explained to its staff that none of them
should work if they don’t wish to do so and they will be
supported in their choice whether to work or not. The company has
been inundated with requests from NHS hospitals and others to
continue serving food due to the closure of other restaurants and cafes,
and the surge in demand on supermarkets. Although it does not expect to
make financial gains, any profit will go to
serving the NHS.
Leon will also turn some of its restaurants into shops for
delivery companies like Uber Eats and Deliveroo “for the last mile
of logistics” so that they could send food that was meant to go into the
foodservice supply chain to people’s homes. The company is also setting
up an E-commerce site to help give customers and NHS staff access to
food.

avoiding kicks in, one London brewery has come up with a solution.
Walthamstow's Signature Brew has decided that it'll "bring the pub to you".
Their Pub In A Box features a selection of their award-winning beers,
with glassware, snacks, a music quiz and exclusive playlists curated by
music journalists to accompany the beers themselves.
And while you can get these delivered to you wherever you're based in
the UK, there is a sweetener in there for Londoners. If you're eligible
for local delivery, they'll be hand delivering from the brewery using
musicians who have had their tours cancelled, like Josh from The Skints did this week.
